A graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, Dr. Loukas received his doctorate from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. His medical training included a medical internship, a residency in Internal Medicine and an Oncology fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, Dr. Loukas is the author of multiple publications and a participant in advanced clinical research projects. He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Texas Medical Association, the American College of Physicians and the American Societies of Clinical Oncology. He is in private practice with Southwest Regional Cancer Center in Austin. His outside interests include working with the youth at his church and playing golf.
