A Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, Dr. Fain received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Methodist Medical Center and a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Texas Medical School in Dallas.

A published author, Dr. Fain is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Physicians, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Society of Medical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. He is board certified in Internal Medicine Medical Oncology, and Hematology. Dr. Fain is a private practitioner with Southwest Regional Cancer Center in Austin.
