Doctors ::
Timothy Wayne Dziuk, M.D.
A graduate of the University of Texas at
Austin, he subsequently attended the University of Texas Medical
Branch at Galveston. He then completed a transition year
residency and residency in Radiation Oncology at Baylor College
of Medicine in Houston. His undergraduate education was broken
by military service, including several tours as a medic in Viet
Nam. Post college he worked for the State of Texas, functioning
variably as a radiochemist, performing incident and compliance
evaluations for the Bureau of Radiation Control, and eventually
managing an environmental radiation assessment group.
At 38, he decided to attend medical school
(at the same time his wife Patricia, Director of the state
Newborn Screening Laboratory Program, returned to school,
eventually receiving a PhD in Psychology). Post residency, he
spent several years as a radiation oncologist in the
Sherman/Denison area, and most recently almost 10 years in South
Austin. While working for the State, he became Board Certified
in Radiation Health Physics, and is currently a Board Certified
Radiation Oncologist.
He is the author of numerous publications,
abstracts and oral presentations, and is the editor of a widely
distributed handbook for managing side effects in radiation
oncology. Dr Dziuk is now Director for the Southwest Regional
Cancer Center Radiation Center. |
